Connect with a local school

To do this, find an organization that facilitates reading mentoring in local schools. If no such organization exists, make an appointment with a local school’s volunteer coordinator.

Offer to be a Reading Mentor

Sometimes, teachers struggle to give students the one-on-one attention they need. Express your availability and desire to help. This is how the Mentoring Experience begins.

Commit to volunteering

This is where the school’s needs and your desires harmonize. The school explains how students need reading assistance, and the volunteer commits to consistently arriving on time and bringing no outside agenda.

Assist a child

Now, the joy and transformation begins. Over the following months, as you fulfill your commitment to arrive on time and honor the school’s process, you will sit in the front row of a child’s academic, social, and emotional growth.
